We Hear You recently invited young people aged 9-16 to enter a competition to design a Christmas card to be used as the charity’s official Christmas cards for 2016.
Hundreds of entries were received and the effort put in by so many has meant that there are now two packs of children’s cards available, with a winner and runner up chosen for each age category.
Helen Sprawson-White, Fundraising Officer at We Hear You, said, “It is the first time we have held a children’s competition like this, the standard of work put in to the entries was really impressive. We simply couldn’t narrow them down to just one winner in each category so we chose a runner up too! We are delighted with the designs and hope that everyone else will as well.”
Taking the prizes for the 9-13 category were Maisie Dewings, aged 11, and Isaac Cornish, aged 9, who both attend Oakfield Academy in Frome and for the 13-16 category were Elliott Clark and Alex Waldeck, both aged 13, from Frome College.
The Christmas cards are now available in packs of 10 priced at £3.50 from The Good Gallery on Stony Street in Frome, Cards for Good Causes at St John’s Church, at various events over the festive period and from the WHY office in Frome town centre, in person or online.
