Rachel Clark is running a mile as part of Frome Carnival children’s procession on 21st September and asking children and their parents to join her in running or walking the procession route as part of her ‘365 for WHY’ mile-a-day challenge for cancer counselling charity We Hear You (WHY). At the end of the mile, all children who participate will be entered into a draw and two winners will accompany Rachel to Bath Rugby in October to meet the team and run a mile at their training ground.
Rachel says: “Thanks to the carnival committee for letting me combine my ‘100 days to go mile’ with the children’s procession this year. With the route being exactly a mile it seemed too great an opportunity to miss! As usual I’ll have WHY t-shirts for those who want them. The support I’ve had from the town so far has been phenomenal and I’ve already raised more than £4,000 for WHY, far more than I expected. If your school, business or community group would like to join me for a mile, get your requests in soon before the colder weather kicks in and your enthusiasm drops!”
The children’s carnival procession starts at 2.30pm in Victoria Park, Frome. More information can be found at https://www.facebook.com/events/556180155122760/.
