Frome Junior Netball Club are teaming up with local counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) to host a charity netball tournament and family fun day on Sunday 24th of June from 10pm to 4pm at Oakfield Academy School in Frome.
Andrea McCall, the club secretary says ‘We are busily preparing for our first ever Junior Charity Netball Tournament and Fun Day. We have 13 teams taking part from Somerset and Wiltshire with girls aged between 9-16 year olds. The day will be a fun-packed family day of watching netball whilst also enjoying a host of fun activities. There will be a grand raffle drawn at 3pm, with the top prize being a day pass for 4 to Center Parcs, plus many more fantastic prizes donated by local companies. Raffle tickets are being sold on the day at £1 per ticket.’
In addition to the netball tournament and raffle there will be a bouncy castle, face painting, BBQ, refreshments, cake stall, ice creams, jumble sale and more. All proceeds from this event will go directly towards WHY’s free counselling service for anyone affected or bereaved by cancer or a life threatening condition.
Helen White, fundraising officer at WHY commented ‘This should be a great event for the whole family to enjoy – many thanks to Andrea and the netball club for choosing to support WHY. We Hear You are running a jumble sale stall at the event so we’re asking for your jumble to sell. If anyone has any items to donate, please contact us at fundraising@wehearyou.org.uk or drop items into our office in the town hall. Come along a join us for a super family fun day out at Oakfield Academy on Sunday 24th June from 10am-4pm.’
