Frome Medical Practice (FMP) have once again chosen local charity We Hear You (WHY) as its Charity of the Year, after the Covid-19 pandemic

prevented most of the practice’s planned fundraising activities for WHY

during 2020.

We Hear You was chosen following a poll of staff at Frome Medical Practice, with a shortlist of three organisations going to a final vote at the end of 2019. Clinical administrator and the practice’s charity champion Kevin Sivell, who was set to organise a busy calendar of fundraising events before the

pandemic struck, says:

“We are really excited to be working with WHY.  The charity is close to the hearts of many of the practice staff. WHY supports so many people in our community and of course aligns well with the work we do as a practice.  We are looking forward to seeing what we can achieve through working

together over the next year.”

Fundraising Manager Gemma Wilkes says “We were delighted to be chosen as FMP’s charity of the year at the start of 2020. Of course, 2020 turned out to be an unexpected year in many ways, especially for our hardworking

colleagues in primary health care. We’re so pleased the practice has offered to extend the scheme and support WHY in 2021 and we look forward to

working with them, both from a fundraising point of view and also to forge stronger links with the clinical team at FMP and ensure that we’re working closely and effectively together to provide the best care to the people who need us both.”
