Supporters of cancer counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) are holding a ‘glitter walk’ on Sunday 4th August from 10am to 12.30pm at Barton St David Preschool. Children are invited to arrive with their parent/carer at 10am to get glittery with biodegradable glitter makeup and collect a pair of head boppers, before setting off for a walk around the playing field. Entry is £2.50 per child and there will be a refreshment sale on the day, with all proceeds going to WHY, who provide free professional counselling to children and adults affected by cancer or a life threatening condition.

Fundraising and Communications Manager Gemma Wilkes says “Thanks so much to Beth for organising this event for us – the money raised from community events like these is absolutely invaluable to WHY, who now support more than 100 people each week across Somerset, BANES and Wiltshire at a cost of more than £4,000. Thanks also to Ruth, one of the mums organising the event, for donating biodegradable glitter makeup to make this a nature-friendly event as well as a fun one! Every child who walks a mile will receive a ‘glitter walk’ certificate and a WHY sticker. There’s no need to book, just come along on the day and have fun while making a difference to a vital local charity.”
